Delhi is a Virtual Paradise City

Asia

New Delhi
Delhi is a virtual paradise with tons and tons of amazing monuments and sights. If you are traveling to this part of the world, make sure that you don’t miss out these historic sights:

1. Jama Masjid

Located in the heart of Old Delhi, the Jama Masjid is the biggest mosque in India. Built by emperor Shah Jahen in the 16th century, this red sandstone mosque has a huge dome and four towering minarets. Old Delhi, is the oldest part of Delhi and has a history of its own. Make sure that you walk around this place and take in the sights and sounds that it has to offer.

2. Red Fort

This huge historic sandstone fort was built in the 15th century by emperor Shah Jahen. Located near the Jama Masjid, this fort will take almost an entire day to go through. This UNESCO World Heritage site is also called ‘Lal Quila’ (i.e., Red Fort).

3. Qutab Minar

The tallest brick minaret in the world, this tower was completed in 1386. The area around the Qutab Minar is historic in its own right and houses one of the world’s greatest curiosities – the 9th century BCE (or 4th century AD, depending on which historian you believe) Iron Pillar that has somehow managed to evade rust over 1600-3000 years.

4. Humayun’s Tomb

This red sandstone tomb is the first Mughal garden-tomb to have been built in India. It houses the remains of the Mughal emperor, Humayun. It is situated near the historic Old Fort of Delhi.
