
Saint Lucia, sandwich between Martinique and St. Vincent in the Caribbean is a natural beauty. With 238 square miles, as in many islands of the Caribbean, with its share in the conquest of the European Union.
With its breathtaking mountains, which includes the twin peaks, Pitons mountains and the springs of Soufriere with its bubbling sulfur, it’s no surprise that it was fought over.
St. Lucia is also the birthplace of the well-known poet and playwright, Mr. Derek Walcott. Mr. Walcott was awarded the WH Smith Literary Award in 1990 and in 1992 he gained the prize for literature. One of his skillful written pieces is the poem, Omeros.
Tourism, in recent years has taken a vital role in the country’s economy and visitors have a lot to look forward to. Apart from the country’s natural attractions, which includes bird watching and hiking, there are many water sports to dive into on superb beaches, golfing, and horseback riding, just to mention a few, to be enjoy.
